We offer special perks to our direct booking guests including earlier check in at 3pm and later checkout at 11am where we can.

Avoiding Fees: Many third-party booking platforms charge service fees or booking fees. Booking directly with the owner will help you avoid these additional costs.

Building Relationships: Booking directly with an owner will lead to building a more personal relationship. This will result in a better experience and repeat guest discounts.

Personalized Communication: When you book directly with the owner, you can communicate directly with them. This allows you to ask questions, discuss your preferences, and get personalized recommendations for your stay.

Customization: Working directly with the owner allows you to customize your experience. You may be able to request specific amenities, services, or arrangements to make your stay more enjoyable.

Simply go to BOOK NOW and choose the available dates you are looking for, supply the details required such as number of people and pets, and share with us what brings you to the Clayton area and what we can do to help you enjoy your trip.

You will be asked to pay for your stay at the end of the booking process using a Credit Card. If you cannot pay via Credit Card and wish to pay via Bank Transfer, please contact us.

One hundred percent (100.00%) of the total booking charges will be refunded if the cancellation is made more than 60 days prior to the arrival date of the reservation.

Fifty percent (50.00%) of the total booking charges will be refunded if the cancellation is made more than 30 days prior to the arrival date of the reservation.

Zero percent (0.00%) of the total booking charges will be refunded if the cancellation is made in less than 30 days prior to arrival date.

We highly recommend that our guests purchase separate travel insurance that includes ‘cancel for any reason’ benefits for maximum flexibility. You will be given this option to purchase at the time of booking.

Our standard check-in time is 4pm and check-out time is 10am.

But as a special reward for our direct booking guests, we offer a 3pm check in and an 11 am checkout where available!

If you require a later check-out, we’ll do our best to accommodate it. But please bear in mind you’ll need to let us know beforehand. Additional fees may apply to late check out or early check in.

Yes! We allow up to 2 well-behaved, vaccinated, potty trained dogs with prior approval. We prefer dogs that are not heavy shedders please as this is very difficult to clean in time for the next guests. Please be responsible and clean up after your pet and keep up with the dog hair as much as possible. We do not allow dogs to remain in the home unattended unless crated and all dogs must be leashed when outside. We do provide sheets for your use in case you would like to cover furniture to make keeping the home clean with a pet easier for you.

No cats or any other type of pet other than dogs are allowed.

**Proof of rabies vaccination and flea control must be provided prior to your visit and $100 fee per pet per stay will be added to your reservation.

This is a smoke-free home, including the outside area surrounding property. No smoking of any substance, including vaping please. If someone in your party absolutely must have a smoke, please keep smoking to the firepit area outside and pick up your cigarette butts so as not to pose a fire risk. If any smoke (including vaping or marijuana or other substances that lingers) is detected, there will be an additional fine to remove the smell – up to $500 in additional cleaning.

There is free Wi-Fi in the property. It is fast and reliable. However, during heavy storms, it occasionally can go out briefly and typically comes back on in a short while.

We provide Wi-Fi as courtesy and cannot be held responsible for 3rd party suppliers. There are no refunds for Wi-Fi that goes out during your stay.

Yes! Four (4) cars fit comfortably in the driveway and a fifth average size car may possibly also fit; however, no cars can be parked on the street at any time. All cars must fit within 3’ inside the driveway. If you need assistance regarding parking, please feel free to give us a call. It is important to discuss how many vehicles your party will be bringing in advance of your stay to make the proper arrangements. We can suggest some local area places to park and you can carpool back to the house.
A security deposit is an amount of money automatically held upon booking. This is the amount that guests will pay to cover the costs of any damages they may incur during the stay. If there is no damage after check-out, it will automatically be deposited on the card. Typically there is a hold placed for the deposit a few days prior to your stay and released about a week after your stay. No charges are actually made to your card unless there is damage. We appreciate open and proactive communication about damage and do our best to work with you.
Must be 21 years or older. You are required to provide a valid form of identification. The person booking also has to be the one staying with your group unless agreed upon otherwise with the owner.
Yes! We sure do! We supply a carafe, a Keurig with K-cups, a French press and grinder. We also supply a tea kettle and tea bags. You’ll need to bring your favorite creamer and we recommend exploring the area for some fantastic local coffee to take back to the house with you to brew!
Yes! We have a digital guidebook and we provide a link via email prior to your stay so that you can access it via your mobile phone or computer. Feel free to share this guidebook with your group for information on what to do in the area, tips, and details about the home including safety information, check in and check out instructions and Wi-Fi login.
Yes and you are welcome to use the washing machine and dryer during your stay. We typically do have some laundry detergent for our guests to be used. We also have a dryer rack.

Yes we are! We have the following for kids: Kids books, puzzles and toys, kids plates, a small high chair, a pack n play, a bouncy seat and 2 baby gates. We also have cabinet safety locks and outlet covers. (Check the guidebook for the most up to date information regarding kids and infants supplies)

Great news! We have a portable handicap ramp available for wheelchair users. With advance notice, we can set it up for you. While assistance will be needed to navigate the ramp, the front entrance leads to the main floor and a beautiful balcony with mountain views. Your mobility-challenged members will have access to the entire main level, including a walk-in shower in the primary bathroom. Reach out to us for more details, and we’ll ensure everyone in your party has a wonderful time!
Absolutely! Our concierge service team can customize your event with catering, charcuterie and wine, cake and balloons, spa services, yoga, and even a photographer. Let us help you book a rehearsal dinner at local restaurants or recommend an itinerary for a Friend-getaway. We are here to make your graduation, wedding, anniversary, other milestone celebration or ‘just because’ event a raging success and take the burden off of you!
No, you don’t usually need 4-wheel drive to reach our North Georgia Mountain home. The roads are paved and easy to navigate, though caution is advised during icy or snowy conditions. Consider travel insurance with a ‘cancel for any reason’ option for added confidence. Please note, we can’t refund due to weather, but snowy days can offer enjoyable activities like snow tubing and winter hiking. Make informed travel choices by monitoring the weather and road conditions closely. Your safety matters most to us.
Very close. About 10 minutes or so to Superwalmart or Ingles.
Overall terrific throughout Clayton, but once you enter our neighborhood, you’ll lose signal temporarily until you get to the house. There you can connect to Wi-Fi and therefore make calls with Wi-Fi calling turned on.

We are really well-stocked at Sunset Ridge Clayton by MK Vacay so many of our guests have said they really did not need to bring much. But feel free to look through our list of amenities found on this website, in the photos and in the digital guidebook. If there is something you suggest that we supply for future guests, we’re happy to consider that.

In the kitchen, we supply all of the basic pots and pans, bakeware and measuring tools, plates, bowls, mugs and glasses, a lemon squeezer and garlic press as well as a wine opener, cocktail shaker and even bourbon glasses! We have a slow cooker and an air fryer. We supply all linens and towels for your stay but we do not provide beach towels. We do have cleaning supplies in the laundry room including a vacuum, broom and dustpan, mop and chemicals on the upper shelf.

We recommend you consider bringing the following that other guests have found helpful as reminders/suggestions:

Ear plugs if you are a light sleeper

Water shoes
Good hiking shoes (trails can be slippery so we recommend something with more grip)

No. We do not supply local cable channels but we do offer smart TV’s for most rooms and you can login to your favorite streaming service with your login.
